Anna has worked with words for 19 years, as a writer, editor, anthologist, lecturer and cultural critic. With a background in publishing, Anna loves bringing out the best in writers, curating collaborations and promoting creative talent.
As an experienced editor who has worked with writers from Brian Cathcart and Joseph Heller to Joan Collins and Lemmy from Motorhead, Anna prides herself in being able to draw out the best in people, whatever their story, and whatever its complexities. She was also a co-investigator on the ‘Museum Lives’ oral history project with the Natural History Museum, and directed a film which was first shown at The National Portrait Gallery.
Having worked as an editor for publishers including Andre Deutsch, Simon & Schuster, Random House and Carlton Books, Anna co-founded the MA in Publishing at Kingston University in 2006. She’s now a part-time Senior Lecturer in Writing at Falmouth University and also trains and mentors people in businesses such as Sames & Littlejohns, Rick Stein’s and Hall for Cornwall.
As Creative and Editorial Director at Stranger, Anna’s job is to manage projects from conception to delivery, and to come up with an endless stream of awesome ideas. Which is good, because that’s what she likes doing best.
