“Social anthropologists point to fire as the spark that ignited human evolution. Firelight extended the day, providing more time for purposes other than hunting and gathering – sparking our imagination through storytelling.” – Carmine Gallo, The Storyteller’s Secret
There’s something about flickering light, splitting wood and the scent of toasting marshmallows that demands a good story. People gather. People share. And in that moment, life is illuminated.
We want to capture those illuminations around our own fire, in a series of gatherings across the summer. The idea is simple – three inspiring talkers, a setting sun and rising flames. The stories told will be true, honest and thought provoking.
This isn’t about career chronologies or business talks. Just like our ancestors, this fire will be our chance for speakers to think beyond the day job, to share tales of the blur between life and work, how one informs the other and how even the tiniest of experiences can set you on a whole new course.
