Firelight 1 – September 2016

Food and drink partners, timings, things to bring and our final storyteller revealed…

If you were lucky enough to secure a seat at Firelight, the hottest ticket around (couldn’t resist), then we’ll be seeing you at Potager on Thursday from 7pm (stories start at 7.30).

We’ve already revealed our first three speakers, but now pleased to announce our fourth:

Mark Jones

Dritek founder Mark Jones

His former publishing and business development career may have been a success on paper, but Mark felt trapped by the 9-5 and couldn’t see a way out. So, like any good inventor, he made one up. Driven by his love of outdoor and watery pursuits, he’s now the creative/ innovation force behind Sleeping Pod and Dritek, designing products that solve problems related to his own passions. “If I hadn’t acted on my idea, nothing would have happened,” he says. “That’s a sobering thought that I’ll never forget.”

As well as our great line up of storytellers, here’s what else to expect on the night…

Food & Drink

The Kitchen

We’ve roped in the guys behind Falmouth’s newest foodie venture, The Kitchen, to bring their delectable offerings to the evening. “At The Kitchen, we’re all about local seasonal sustainable eating,” says co-founder Rory, “showcasing the abundance of ingredients on our doorstep.”

The guys will be cooking up a frenzy of the finest locally-sourced food (jamb joint, or smoked feta for the veggies – yum), which they’ll be fire cooking in a four-drawer filing cabinet (yes you read it right – a filing cabinet, people), and serving up with their own unique flair. Make sure you bring cash on the night so you don’t miss out.

Sharp’s Brewery

The lovely chaps at Sharp’s Brewery have once again kindly offered to fuel the conversation with a selection of beers and ales for thirsty guests. If you’re not a beer drinker, fear not – the Potager bar will be open for wine, spirits and soft drinks. It also accepts cards.

What to bring

  • Warm clothes as the sun goes down
  • A cushion or camping chair
  • Cash for food and Potager’s bar

See you by the fire…
