Creative Breakfast: Danny North

Danny North joins us bright and early to tell tales of all sorts: from selling lingerie and sex toys from a warehouse in Leeds, to travelling the world as a music photographer.

Falmouth-based portrait photographer Danny North creates images that capture the spirit and energy of the moment. Whether working with the likes of U2 to Lewis Hamilton or local folk on the Hebridean island of Eigg, he works closely with his subjects to achieve images that are authentic and memorable.

February’s creative breakfast will see Danny talk us through his journey, from selling underwear with his parents, to touring the world, camera in hand and then finding himself on a remote Scottish island without a TV, phone, radio or internet the day after the Brexit vote.

His work has been selected for the 2017 Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize, Creative Review’s 2018 Photography Annual and the 2019 Portrait of Britain award. His clients have included the likes of Apple, Clarks, Atlantic, and Capitol Records and has appeared in The Guardian, The Independent, NME, Rolling Stone, Kerrang, and Q Magazine.

Creative Breakfasts are free to attend at start at 8.30am in the Stranger Collective Studio, Killigrew Street.
