Firelight | Back to the Garden by Bike

Some of team Stranger will be pedalling their way to Potager for next month's Firelight. If you're joining us at Potager and fancy taking to the saddle you can follow our route, shared here. For the return cycle after sundown, you're welcome to join us on the road – at your own risk – for a group cycle back...

The most direct route to Potager Garden from the centre of Falmouth is to cycle out of town along Kimberly Park Road then head towards Kergilliack Road. There are some short climbs, particularly early on, during the ride, but also plenty of flatter stretches along the 5.5 miles. Traffic will be relatively high on the first part of the journey between 5pm and 6pm. At the top of Trescobeas Road, as you leave Falmouth, there is a roundabout where you join Kergilliack Road. This can be very busy and the safest route is to use the shared pavement space on Trescobeas Road and cross Bickland Hill to join Kergilliack Road that way.

Find a link to this route on cycle.travel below. Read on for details of a quieter route, which takes in a couple more challenging climbs but also some fine Cornish countryside.

We’ll be cycling back once the event has come to a close, after sundown, and any cyclists are welcome to join us for the return journey. That’s totally optional and by following the route, or joining us for the return journey, you accept full responsibility for your safety while travelling to and from the venue.
