What’s your favourite part of the process and why?
Finding the point. When you’re wading through everything you’ve heard, read, researched and you spot the thing that matters – that makes everything else make sense. It’s always in there, but sometimes it needs digging for. I like the digging.
What do you bring to a project that no one else does?
I think it’s making sure we’re pointing at the right thing in the first place. So often there is more going on than it seems. I’m good at seeing the thing underneath the thing – which helps us then tighten the focus so everything else can fall into place.
What’s something outside of work that shapes how you think?
Music. As an always reminder of how many ways there are to use words to make meaning. And sea swimming – for the opposite experience almost, no sound but the sea, it’s when my brain gets to be completely distraction-free.
